Greece, Myth & Islands

8 nights

Nine days that begin in the marble shadow of the Acropolis, move to the wild north coast of Crete, and finish above the caldera in Santorini. Built for families who want their children to stand on top of the Parthenon, learn to sail a small boat, and watch the most famous sunset in the world without elbowing a crowd.

Day 1

Athens, Settling In

Private transfer from Eleftherios Venizelos to Hotel Grande Bretagne, A Luxury Collection Hotel, the 1874 landmark on Syntagma Square, with Acropolis-view family suites and a rooftop pool that the kids will not want to leave. After a rest, a soft evening walk through the Plaka and a first dinner at Nolan, a younger-generation Athenian favorite that handles families with grace.

Day 2

The Acropolis, Before the Heat

Private 8 AM entry to the Acropolis with a family-focused archaeologist who can tell the story of Athena and the city with the kind of energy that pulls in even the most distracted teenager. The Acropolis Museum afterward, the Parthenon Gallery is unforgettable. Lunch at Strofi on the roof, with the Parthenon in plain view. Afternoon at the Ancient Agora at a slower pace, or a swim back at the hotel.

Day 3

Cape Sounion & a Mythology Walk

Morning private drive along the Athenian Riviera to the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, with a long seaside lunch at Matsuhisa Athens or a more local taverna in Vouliagmeni. Afternoon back in Athens, with a thematic mythology walk through the Plaka built for kids, Athena versus Poseidon, the story of the olive tree, the chair Lord Byron sat in. Evening flight or overnight before tomorrow’s hop south.

Day 4

South to Crete

Morning flight to Heraklion (about 50 minutes), where a private driver collects you for the hour east to Daios Cove, on the wild and quieter north coast. The resort climbs the cliff above a private cove, and family villas come with private sea-water pools and direct cove access. Lunch on arrival, afternoon swim, dinner at Ocean, the seafood-focused restaurant cantilevered above the water.

Day 5

Knossos & an Olive Grove

Morning at Knossos, the Minoan palace, with a family archaeologist who handles the Theseus and Minotaur story with the right amount of suspense. Lunch at Peskesi in Heraklion, a working farm-to-table that the kids will love. Afternoon at a fourth-generation olive grove inland, where you’ll harvest a few branches (in season), press oil, and taste with bread still warm from the wood oven.

Day 6

On the Water

Private catamaran day from the hotel marina. The crew packs lunch and snorkel gear, the captain finds quiet coves, the children jump from the bow. Optional stop at the islet of Spinalonga, the old Venetian fortress with a haunting history that the older kids find unexpectedly moving. Back to the hotel by late afternoon, dinner on the terrace as the cliffs go gold.

Day 7

On to Santorini

Short morning flight to Santorini (about 40 minutes), private transfer up to Oia and check in to Canaves Oia Suites, whitewashed terraces with private plunge pools, caldera views, and the kind of small-property service that remembers your daughter is allergic to pistachio. Lunch at the property’s restaurant, afternoon swimming in the cliff-side pool, a quiet evening.

Day 8

Caldera Sailing & a Sunset You Will Remember

Late-morning private gulet sailing on the caldera, swim stops at the Red Beach and the hot springs, lunch on board as you sail toward the volcano. Return in the late afternoon to dress for dinner, and a sunset viewing point we will reserve specifically for you, not the elbow-to-elbow Castle, but a private terrace at a restaurant in Oia where the family can sit, eat slowly, and watch the most famous sunset in the world unfold.

Day 9

Akrotiri & Farewell

Morning at the Akrotiri archaeological site, the buried Minoan city often called the Pompeii of the Aegean, with a guide who knows how to bring its frozen-in-time streets to life. Lunch at Selene, set into a cliff in Pyrgos. Afternoon flight back to Athens for international connections, or an extension at Amanzoe on the mainland Peloponnese.

Plan your family’s next journey.
